The Grow In Wisdom Foundation, a Christian non-profit organization based in Charlotte, NC, was born with the passing of Scott’s father, David Lee Gill, Sr. He passed at the tender age of 65 years old on April 3, 2014. It was then that Scott was given the vision to sow a seed of the Word of God. Scott’s father left behind an undeniable legacy, after having served and loved people for his entire life. It was upon his passing, that Scott realized that life is not about the material things we can gather; nor is it about the car we drive, or the home we live in. Life is about giving, and quite simply, this is the purpose for this Foundation. Praise God!
The Founder of The Grow In Wisdom Foundation is Scott P. Gill. Scott was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1979. Growing up, he was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church on Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh. He gave his life to the Lord and was baptized at the age of 8 years old. He graduated from Millbrook Sr. High School in 1998. After high school, Scott attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with a B.A. in Communication Studies in 2002. He also has an MBA from Keller School of Business Management at DeVry University.
Since the foundation was created in 2014, we have initiated partnerships with multiple organizations to make a positive impact in the community. Through projects and volunteering with organizations such as The Loaves and Fishes food warehouse, Hospitality House of Charlotte, Homeless Resource Center, and As-One Ministries, we have enthusiastically served to make a difference through community service. For the past 3+ years, Scott Gill has proudly served as homeless counselor Urban Ministry Center in Charlotte, NC. Through this process, there have been hundreds of interactions with individuals experiencing homelessness. This opportunity has shaped the mission for the organization, and continues to drive our vision.
